Confusion

Polls of black people not that long ago showed the majority of them were against removing the confederate battle flag from state flags. They understood the "heritage not hate" message. They understood that the civil war was about preventing states from leaving a voluntary union, and not about slavery. They also understood that the battle flag represented defense against that invasion and not preservation of slavery.
