The Death Ditch The enemy tried to move their troops to this position. The enemy had to be eliminated in order to prevent them from gaining a foothold. But due to the difficult topography of the area, battalion’s cannon artillery could not inflict effective fire damage. That is why our mortar unit and automatic grenade launcher operators joined in, and they managed to trap the enemy in a narrow ditch on the approaches to "Cyclops".
