The mine doesn't appear to explode directly under his foot, which means it was possibly a POM-2 or similar type device which shoots spring loaded trip wires out in multiple directions after landing. It i s also possible that it was a bouncing betty type mine that bounced laterally rather than vertically because it wasn't placed level with the ground.
