for those who don't know:

the rope it put in under the castrating band was so he could remove it a short time later. they stretch the band up by pulling the rope away from the balls and use scissors or a razor blade to cut the band. these people are mentally ill, but not stupid.

but...

many of them progress to a point seriously considering cutting the balls (and sack) off and the bands allow them to do that without bleeding too much. i've only seen one come into the emergency room after cutting. though a friend of mine in the northeast has seen this 3 times. not sure what they're putting in the water up there.

side note: they get "corrective" surgery later after cutting themselves like that to remove the rest of the sack and connective tissues. but their mental issues get a lot worse, depression, weight gain, bone loss, mental degradation, (obvious) regret, and eventually suicide.
