According to information from the Military Police (PM), the attack happened when the 26-year-old suspect became jealous of the victim, who had taken fruit to his girlfriend moments before. The incident occurred on Friday (10), around 12 pm and was captured by a security camera. The images show the elderly man walking and then the attacker approaching to kick him in the back, resulting in the victim falling to the ground. After the blow, the attacker looked at the elderly man, who had passed out, turned his back and walked away. Despite receiving help from a team from the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu), the victim did not resist and died in the ambulance during the journey to the hospital. The Military Police received information about the suspect's whereabouts. In the house where he was, the man tried to escape from the police and reacted when he was surrounded. The military managed to restrain him and arrested him for the crime of bodily injury followed by death.
