The videos show the struggle with the man inside Café Rica on East Michigan Avenue— You can see when he tried to grab the taser from one officer, and their attempt to detain him. Officers had been called to the café before 3:45 p.m. in response to “an unwanted person.” During a struggle with the 29-year-old suspect, an officer was shot in the leg, police told FOX 17. She was taken to a local hospital and is expected to recover. The suspect was shot by a separate officer and was treated on the scene, but succumbed to the injury.
