Amira Hunter, 23, a homeless woman from Brooklyn, New York, has been arrested and charged after attacking a 27 year old Asian man, hitting him in the head with a metal bottle. MSN calls this attack "an incident." No one called it a hate crime.

Recently elected Judge Marva Brown simply released Amira Hunter without bail, despite the fact Hunter has been previously arrested eight times for domestic violence and larceny. Brown offered no explanation for simply releasing Hunter.

Also, there was no explanation as to why Brown, a civil judge, was ruling on a criminal case.

The man who was attacked experienced pain in his head, but was not seriously injured. He is a noted musician, having been 'discovered' while playing at a subway station. and gave a debut performance at Radio City Music Hall with singer-songwriter Josh Groban in 2020.

Two years later, the 27-year-old performed during the New York Yankees' opening game at Yankee Stadium.

In addition to his musical pursuits, he is finishing an MD-PhD at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai after earning his PhD in May.

He said this is the second time he has been attacked in public, and will probably not perform in this way again.
