"He was a professional BMX rider who once set a Guinness World Record by jumping over 13 Ford Explorers on a bike." Apparently, his daring and stunts and innovative techniques were legendary.

He had suffered some injuries along the way, but he was able recover and continue his amazing feats.

This video was shot in July of 2004, and this time, as mentioned in the video description, his injuries were extensive. Some say the van was traveling faster than it was supposed to, which contributed to the wipe out.

In 2005, still affected by his injuries, Winkleman started a BMX parts/components company called Circus, with four other riders contributing the design of top-end parts.

He commented: "I've been up and able to walk for a while now, at first only with crutches but, it wasn't long 'till I could walk without them. My main problems now are a chunk of bone on the bottom of my right foot that makes it feel like I'm standing on a piece of gravel, and the lack of flexibility in my left one. I'm doin' good enough now to walk without people wondering...What's he got stuck up his ass? That is, just without limping. hehe. But it'll still be a while before I can ride properly..."

I can't imagine the pain he must have been in the entire time.

In the last days, (I've seen nothing official, but the story goes) that normally good-natured Colin got into a argument with his girlfriend, who then left him. Colin allegedly mentioned suicide but no one took him seriously. No one heard from him in three days, so his buddies checked on him and found him on the floor in his garage, blood coming out of his nose. Apparently he had started his motorcycle and succumbed to carbon monoxide poisoning.
