Officers gave several verbal commands to drop the gun, but he did not comply. An exchange of gunfire took place, during which the man and one officer were struck. Both were taken to an area hospital for treatment. The man, later identified as 39-year-old Anthony Ferguson, was pronounced deceased a short time later.
