This happened at the Michigan Challenge Balloonfest in Howell, Michigan at 8 AM, while the balloon was flying over Thompson Lake.
After making contact with the power line, parts blew off the the damaged balloon and it caught on fire. The balloon descended into the lake about 30 yards from shore. While onlookers dialed 911, two different fishermen on the lake zoomed over to the balloon and helped get the unnamed pilot to shore. Amazingly, the balloon guy was completely unharmed.
That made my day! Not sure what was better, the jerks in the ballon getting electrocuted or the guy yelling "everybody get back:

The FAA is investigating.
If they had been using hydrogen in that balloon this would have been a real blast.
Get back! Get back! Get back to where you once belonged.
Get back, Jo Jo!
