Orange County sheriff’s deputies found suspect Joseph Gerdvil on a street outside the San Juan Mobile Estates while responding to a grisly murder scene in San Juan Capistrano on July 9. They had just found the headless bodies of his parents — 77-year-old Ronald Gerdvil and 79-year-old Antoinette Gerdvil — along with their mutilated dead dog in their mobile home, police said. Gerdvil was spotted a short time later after allegedly attacking a maintenance worker, authorities said.
