Residents immediately gathered to collect the spilled oil, bringing containers such as buckets, jerry cans, and gallons. A resident called the oil a "blessing from God" and planned to use it for daily needs. The truck was originally going to deliver cooking oil to PT Wings in Gowa Regency before the incident occurred.
