Tupelo, MS 2023-Primvar Singh, 33, the clerk at a Chevron Food Mart, died a few hours later. The suspect, Chris Copeland, 27, was on parole for felony burglary and larceny of a dwelling but was placed on house arrest after violating parole. Unfortunately his ankle monitor stopped working.

He surrendered hours later and was indicted for capital murder and possession of a firearm by a felon. In Mississippi the only sentneces for capital murder are life without parole or death.
