I-95, Camden County, Georgia October 16, 2023-Leonard Cure, 53, black man, was fatally shot after being pulled over for speeding and reckless driving. Cure was compliant until he learned that he was being arrested instead of getting a ticket according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Cure had been exonerated in 2020 for armed robbery at a Walgreens in Florida after 16 years in prison. The family of Cure filed a $16 million lawsuit against the Sheriff's Office for “excessive and deadly force” in Cure's death.
