According to the Federal Highway Police (PRF), the victims were on a motorcycle when they crossed into the wrong lane of the highway and collided head-on with the car.

A man and a woman died at the scene. A passenger was taken to the hospital, but did not survive her injuries, according to the Fire Department, and died shortly after arriving at the scene.
