Officers later learned that he was the business owner of the location.

Didn't declare who he was or issue a valid challenge. 100% cop fuck up. If the cup was shot first under the mans 2A rights , he'd have been justified. Dude is literally checking his own alarm out and was snuck up on by a gunman who didn't state he was police.
Nothing wrong here. He never made any attempt to be obvious or state who he was before the shot was fired. He had a gun pointed at officers.
