It all started and ended when he was pulled over in Pasadena, Texas, after running a stop sign Thursday.
The officer told Saavedra three times to “stay in the vehicle” and then told him twice to “show me your hands.” Despite these simple instructions, Saavedra didn't comply. He got out of the vehicle and had his right hand behind his back as he stood next to his car. Next, he rapidly drew a handgun and pointed it at the cops, which rarely turns out well. Police fired upon Saavedra, who was hit, yet he obviously hadn't had enough. With gun still in hand, Saavedra staggered around like a roach that got hit with Raid, then raised his gun and fired at police again before getting a bullet-based pavement nap. The officer who won the shooting contest has been on active duty for 13 years.
Pasadena, Texas police said Saavedra had arrest warrants on aggravated assault charges and for violating his bond.
Court records show Saavedra, from Houston, had been accused of assaulting his wife on at least two occasions. Police said the gun Saavedra had was reported stolen.
It is believed that a random driver who entered the scene may have said, "Holy shit," before speeding backwards away from the mayhem.
Marco Antonio Saavedra, 44, is toast.
