Louisville Metro Police have released body camera footage showing two veteran officers confronting and fatally shooting a man in Crescent Hill on Easter Sunday after he allegedly attempted to stab one of the officers with a stolen kitchen knife. Officers arrived at an apartment complex on Aterburn Avenue at about 12:30 p.m. April 20 in respones to a 911 call about a possibly intoxicated Black man who was angrily shouting. While the knife made contact with Chapelle’s protective vest, it did not go through to his skin, McKinley said.
