Controlled demolition vs oops

Yellow building was part of the demolition, so it's all good.

Back in the day in Britain, they used to knock down the Victorian factory, steeples from the top. Brick by fucking brick. One guy with a lump hammer knocking the bricks down through the steeple, where a guy had to hand ball the bricks out through a hole they made.

Then when enough height had been taking out, they'd strategically remove bricks from the base and prop up with wood. Once everything was set, they set the base on fire , and the remaining steeple would collapse like a modern demolition.

These men were known as Steeple Jack's and usually only worked in 2 man teams.

with people still being there, I'd guess the tower wasn't supposed to fall.
