In addition, she is a devout, certified nurse. During the night of July 4th to 5th, she became the victim of a brutal sexual assault. It all began when a group of men knocked on her door under the pretense of a neighborly visit. What followed can only be described as hell. The attackers threw her to the ground, tied her up, beat her, and even poured bleach into her mouth. What happened afterward varies depending on the source. Some sources suggest a rape may have occurred, though it hasn’t been confirmed. Others claim one of the attackers raped her, and still others speak of a gang rape while she was unconscious. What is certain, however, is that she filed a complaint on July 6th against unknown perpetrators for assault, violence, and rape. After the physical attack ended, the perpetrators stole valuables from her apartment. Police are still actively searching for them. Soraya herself spoke about the assault on social media. She stated that she suffered a concussion, has a broken nose, is psychologically devastated, and has bruises all over her body. She also said the attackers pointed a gun at her head to force her cooperation. Immediately after the crime, she shared images of her mutilated face and raw emotions on her social media. By doing this, she may have contributed more to society than she originally intended.
