October 18, 2025 The authorities identified as Santiago Leal Cardona, 28, the driver of the motorcycle that was hit by a car in the Cristo Rey neighborhood of Medellín, in the middle of the theft of some gold chains outside a renowned bakery in this sector of the southwest of the city. In this event, the motorcycle passenger was injured, who is recovering in a healthcare center while in police custody. The driver of the car was also arrested. The events occurred at 4:29 in the afternoon this Friday on 16th Street and 52nd Street, in this neighborhood of commune 15 (Guayabal), when a man and his family group arrived at the bakery to buy some of the products. When they got back into the vehicle, two men on a motorcycle intimidated them with a traumatic weapon and took three gold chains, valued at nine million pesos. The Secretary of Security of Medellín, Manuel Villa Mejía, stated that “two men who were traveling on a motorcycle intercepted these women and under threats.
