On September 6, 2024, Delisha Evans, 30, from Princeton, Texas, and Ryan Phillips, her ex-boyfriend, were both pronounced dead at the scene following a police pursuit that ended in a rollover crash and shootout in St. Louis County, Missouri (Affton area, South Rock Hill Road near Pardee Road). Princeton police responded to a house fire at Evans' home on Winding Meadow Trail around 7:30 a.m. Family reported her missing and in imminent danger. Investigators identified Phillips as the suspect in her disappearance and learned he was traveling toward the St. Louis area with Evans possibly in danger.Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers located Phillips' red SUV on Interstate 44, attempted a traffic stop, but he fled. The pursuit ended when the vehicle crashed and overturned.Phillips emerged from the vehicle, raised a firearm toward troopers, and exchanged gunfire with them. Phillips was struck and pronounced dead at the scene.Evans was found deceased inside the SUV. A post-mortem examination determined she had died at least 24 hours earlier from a gunshot wound to the head, prior to the pursuit and crash. Show more
