Witnesses reported the suspect repeatedly slowed or braked in front of the woman’s vehicle, escalating the situation. The confrontation intensified when the suspect abruptly cut across lanes, stopped, got out of her car, and approached the other driver. Authorities say she climbed onto the hood and opened the driver’s door, turning the traffic dispute into a physical assault. As the attack unfolded, a nearby motorist, an older woman who had witnessed the scene, stepped out to help, but she too was allegedly struck and scratched. Police say the suspect remained in the area after the assaults, allowing responding officers from the Orlando Police Department to locate her quickly using descriptions provided by victims and witnesses. When officers attempted to detain her, the situation escalated again as she reportedly fought back, kicking and biting an officer during the arrest. As a result, the suspect, 37-year-old Mandolyn Shaffer-Brockwell, was arrested and booked into jail on charges of Resisting an officer with violence, Battery on a person 65 years or older, Aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, and Burglary of a conveyance with assault/battery.
