The odyssey story is based on true events based on myths, legends & written accounts by people who lived it.............. The problem with modern Hollywood is they keep trying to “fix” stories that survived for thousands of years without their help. Fatigue Say what you want about “Elliot Page” but it’s bad casting no matter how you look at it. Are we calling Elliot a man? If so, Elliot is fucking tiny for a great heroic warrior. Elliot needs to hit the gym more if they/them want to be judged as man. Achilles was not a woman. The Odyssey and the Iliad became legendary because they captured timeless themes: war, sacrifice, masculinity, glory, pride, brotherhood, and the brutal cost of ambition. People do not watch ancient epics hoping to get lectured by modern casting departments. They want authenticity. They want larger than life heroes. They want stories that feel grounded in the world they came from. That’s why Troy still hits so hard. Brad Pitt looked and carried himself like a mythological warrior. The battles felt raw. The world felt dangerous. Men watched that movie and immediately wanted to lift weights and conquer something. Hollywood keeps confusing “subverting expectations” with good storytelling. Sometimes the original story became famous for a reason. Honestly just looking at clips of Juno as a warrior and a black short haired woman as Helen of Troy looks beyond parody at this point. It’s an outright attack on our culture It would be like casting a white guy to play Black Panther… which they did. And it’s equally ridiculous
