Active shooter drill. Lock the classroom door and wait for cops. Yet in recent shootings they haven't even locked down.

Personally I'd want automatic locks on ever door in the school including hallways. The first gun shot fired , hit a button and the school lockdown.

Maybe when a class is in session have the door locked from the inside. Don't have windows on the doors either.

That way if a shooter gets in , they're only targets would be a few stragglers in the hallways. Obviously kids will have to move class to class and go to lunch etc but there's not much you can do.

In most cases , shootings happen in a particular classroom and some go room to room. And some shooters know exactly what their target classroom is.

UK schools are secured from the outside with Palisade fencing and key card gates. So would be attackers would have to sneak in when the students come in but they do put a teacher on each gate to detect intruders.

If a kid gets stabbed at school, it's because students were fighting. Fucked up times. Give it a while and schools will have TSA level checks to get in.

Columbine happened 3 miles from where I lived at the time.

My 4 year old son's daycare was a quarter mile from that school and I remember streets blocked off everywhere as I went to go pick up my son, trying to navigate through police barricades was literally nerve racking.

Those two fucks changed the way our schools function, that's what I thought anyway, and still to this day we have schools who don't take security seriously.
