The soft tissue is reduced to its basic components (amino acids, fats, salts), while the bones remain. Those bones are carefully removed, dried, and processed into a powder that can be returned to the family in an urn, similar to what families receive following flame cremation. The water is sterilized, but can be collected to fertilize trees or sod farms, otherwise it goes into the municipal sewer system, just like blood when a body is embalmed, or your waste when you use the bathroom.
