Great last view

Idiot! There was a nice banner and a wind sock showing the wind direction.

That happened to me around Thanksgiving. I was flying my ultralight and the engine cut off soon after takeoff. I was only 300 ft and over big trees but I managed to get to a short field. I came down real hard and broke my airframe and fractured my foot. I crashed into a 6 ft cedar tree and flipped on the side. It was hell getting my seat belt off. I didn't have my cell phone and had to walk/hobble about a mile to get home.

I'm not joking. It really happened. This guy in the video stalled out and dropped like a rock. I can usually land almost as good with the engine out but the circumstances forced me to maintain altitude to clear large trees.... after you do that you drop pretty fast. As they say.. any landing you can walk away from is a good one.
