Suspect believed to be involved in attempted assassination of NYC police officers. Entered police precinct, started shooting, then gave up after running out of ammo.

I'm confused. Cops will shoot and kill kids with potato guns, yet when a man comes into their precinct armed and shootin' they just punch him a few times. Strange
