Video shows the moment French rapper Sadek and friends brutally beat up blogger Bassem Braïki in Vénissieux, France, after the man called his mom a whore and challenged him to run up on him on social media. Bassem was hospitalized on Tuesday February 11 in Lyon in a state of relative emergency. He was violently attacked by several people, three or four men, shortly after 4am in the town of Vénissieux. One of the attackers, armed with a telescopic baton, can be seen beating Bassem, lying on the ground, trying to protect his face covered in blood. Sadek has since took to Instagram to explain his actions. “I gave in to violence like a fool.” The rapper recognized his involvement in the violence and made his mea-culpa in a series of videos released Tuesday morning via his Instagram stories. He explains that he regrets the “events of that night”. “I am not proud of myself. I gave in to violence and hatred like a fool because I could no longer bear threats with weapons.” Show more
