Minn Corrections Officer Put On Leave After Heated Exchange With BLM Agitators Outside His House, Dropped N Bomb The Minnesota Correctional Facility-Stillwater sergeant has been placed on “investigatory” leave after he was captured on video Sunday and who had hurled a racial slur at screaming at protesters nearby. This incident happened during the protest and prayer service that started outside Washington County Attorney Pete Orput's house in Stillwater, which is only 500 blocks away from where this confrontation occurred. Protesters have been gathering in Stillwater near Orput's house and calling for him to bring murder charges against Kim Potter, the ex-Brooklyn Center police officer accused of killing Daunte Wright. The public pressure has reached Officer Potter as he has now been charged with second-degree manslaughter per a recent announcement from Brooklyn Centre Police Department Chief Constable John Herrington. Sgt. Paul Gorder, 55 and with 26 years of experience working as a corrections officer for the Minnesota Department of Corrections can be seen in video footage wearing his DOC T-shirt yelling at protesters and eventually drops the N-bomb along with his wife. DOC Commissioner Paul Schnell on Monday apologized for Gorder’s behavior. He also said he has asked the DOC’s Office of Professional Accountability to investigate. “The actions of the employee are deeply disturbing and contrary to the mission and values of the Department of Corrections,” Schnell said. “At a time when we are focused on growing trust in law enforcement and the broader criminal justice system, the conduct and comments by the DOC sergeant and his wife to the group of mostly African-American peaceful protestors are troubling. “Even while off-duty, we expect that employees conduct themselves in a manner that upholds the values of the agency,” Schnell said.
