Bakersfield Police Department received a call regarding a peace disturbance in an apartment complex. The caller advised they could hear yelling from an apartment, between a male and a female and that the male subject was possibly under the influence of drugs. For approximately an hour, officers attempted to negotiate with the male subject to have his mother exit the residence so that officers could confirm she was uninjured. Three officers discharged their firearms. Multiple knives were located next to the suspect. Medical aid was immediately summoned; however, the suspect succumbed to his injuries. Show more
