I have 3 train stations within 1 mile apart, there's literally no place in the UK I can't get to. I can get a train direct to mainland Europe. London to Paris in a few hours, no airport check in B'S, just ticket and passport.
No luggage restrictions, get served a proper meal on a plate, buffet carriage with a stand up bar for booze and snacks , yup, beats flying hands down. And you wouldn't want to drive to Paris because you wouldn't want to drive in Paris.
