Stalin was a communist dictator and Hitler was the leader of a far-right, racist, ultranationalist and explicitly anti-Marxist movement. The Nazis sought to win workers away from socialism and communism, and that they persecuted socialists and communists.
The word "Socialist" in National Socialist German Workers' Party does not magically make Nazism socialism. The Nazis abolished independent trade unions, eliminated every other political party, destroyed democratic freedoms and established a one-party totalitarian dictatorship.
And ironically, the actual "Nazi 25-point programme" demanded things such as nationalization of corporations and extensive state intervention in the economy. So if your definition of "socialism" is simply "the government intervenes in the economy", then you have reduced political ideology to a meaningless word game.
Democratic socialism, social democracy, Marxism, communism and Nazism are not interchangeable ideologies. They have fundamentally different views on democracy, political pluralism, class, race, individual rights and the role of the state.
You can criticize Democrats or socialist policies all you want. But putting Hitler next to a modern democratic political movement and calling them the same thing isn't an argument. It's propaganda pretending to be history.
If you want to compare something to Nazism, compare the actual characteristics of Nazi rule, like destruction of democratic institutions, one-party rule, political repression, state control of the press, persecution of political opponents and the concentration of power in one leader. That's what real historical record actually shows.
