@truckingman,All I'm trying to say if you manage your hives properly feeding honey back to your bees should not present a problem of any great concern also I am in no way trying to put you down. No one will ever know everything about the compexity of the honey bee. My background is brief; I've come from a family of beekeepers, my father, my uncle and before them my grandfather, I work an apiary of 10,000 hives give or take and supervised the crew there. I work for 10 years as the state bee inspector and I hold a degree in entomology although my studies are dated, I will never know everthing there is about the honey bee.
What meant to finish was, American Foulbrood, Paenibacillus larvae ssp. larvae, and European foulbrood, Melissococcus plutonius, are both Bacterial diseases that their spores can be transmitted through nectar and honey so when 'robber bees' take honey from foulbrood weakened hive, they are transporting the spores to their hives. The treatment for European foulbrood is terramycin, Tetra-B Mix; however, there is no chemical treatment for American Foulbrood. The only treatment for American foulbrood is to burn the entire hive. Bottom board, hive body, honey supers, frames, hive top, hive feed, and bees all have to be incinerated no if and or but about it when it comes to the safety of your bee yard and the law, YOU WILL DO IT!!!!
