I here ice and vodka help with all that :-) Keep flexing that scar tissue to keep it from getting tight later on... and no sun on it... it'll make it stick out worse permanently. more redder n stuff. got one on my shoulder that wasnt to bad until I got sunned on it... now it looks about 25% worse than it was to begin with.
