Just saw an article about Amazon. They will now start charging $9.95 per delivery from Whole Foods for Prime Members.
In 2018 they posted income of 11 Billion. (no federal taxes paid this year or any previous years)
2019 they made $13.9 Billion. ($162 Million paid in federal taxes)
2020 - $21 Billion (not sure what they paid in taxes)
Those incomes are billions, think about that for a moment. Now, that's not necessarily their fault they pay so little. We all would skirt taxes if we could.
Amazon also hires driver as independent contractors and even offered to pay $10,000 to get you started. Sounds great and what a great company, right? But why do they do this? It takes the liability off of them. Less insurance costs, employment taxes, workers compensation, etc. The other thing about this, is if you sign up to do this, you can only drive for Amazon. Anyone in business knows that if you only have one customer you are doomed for failure. They are not doing this out of kindness and helping the world, it's to make more money.
How's tricks today lads?
