Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call at the Super 8 hotel on Lehigh Station Road after Gregory Allen Kase’s wife reported that her husband had texted her. Deputies arrived within minutes. According to the family’s notice of claim and sheriff’s office accounts, 62-year-old Gregory Allen Kase, was found naked in the bathroom of the hotel room holding a box cutter or knife. Deputies ordered him multiple times from the hallway and after forcing entry to drop the weapon. He did not comply. Roughly 13 minutes after the call went out, two deputies fired their weapons, striking Kase in the chest and stomach. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Show more
