The SUV accelerated when he attempted to stop it, reaching speeds of 130 mph or more as he pursued. Officers and deputies positioned spike strips near Blytheville, successfully puncturing the vehicle’s tires, but the driver continued through the city. As officers moved in, the driver, identified as 25-year-old Adonerus Johnson, attempted to move from the driver’s seat into the rear of the SUV and escape.
